What is sliding-scale and reparative pricing?
Sliding-scale pricing provides multiple price points based on fund and exchange accessibility per each client’s financial situation. The goal is to reduce financial barriers for people with different levels of income, and to support a tradition of the possibility of paying forward services from donations for no-to-low cost for those who need it. It is a model rooted in mutual aid, justice, and abolition, taking into account the historical and current economic disadvantages faced especially by us affected by the majority of us affected by legislative oppression, especially Black and brown individuals and individuals with disabilities, though not decided directly upon identity (price points are determined based on how much an individual is able to meet their basic needs).
This practice uses Alexis J. Cunningfolk’s Green Bottle model, which may help determine where one falls in financing services. One can choose the price point that reflects one’s access to resources best, as well as negotiate barters and service trades. This information is available upon request, receipted, and can be determined via a brief consultation. No one is turned away for lack of funds for offerings such as Emotional Hurricane Rapid Support, breath training, and resource matching, which also may be requested during a Chemistry Call.
In addition, rates for universities and other complex institutions reflect j. nyla’s reparative asks as a Black and pinxy person whose Black and Filipina ancestors were held to serving elite and owning people for little to no compensation only 1 through 5 generations ago.
Where are all your service prices?
Service prices are available upon request, or during a brief consultation due to the large size of the pricing matrix due to the sliding scale model by number of services j. nyla offers for various types of individuals and entities.
Otherwise, fixed prices for readings exist in the appointment scheduler. Please inquire via email for price negotiations, and include which service you would like to receive. For services listed on the Offerings page that are not in the appointment scheduler, please schedule a Chemistry Call.
Prices for coaching and consulting are subject to change to reflect flux in California cost of living and j. nyla’s ongoing educational commitments (no more than 15% each year), and are always available to view as an onboarded client.
